Geneva Way Structure Fire
02/22/19 - South Metro Firefighters IAFF LOCAL 2086
At 5:16 p.m. on Friday February 22nd, Local members responded to a residential garage fire in the 5200 block of South Geneva Way in unincorporated Arapahoe County. The 911 caller reported smoke and flames in the garage and safely evacuated. When members arrived, they observed soot stained garage doors and advanced a hose line for fire attack.

    Local 21 regrets to announce the passing of Retired District Chief Dean Baerenwald who passed away on February 18, 2019. Chief Baerenwald started with Saint Paul Fire Department on July 16, 1962 and retired on November 29, 1997. There will be a service this summer.

Concert to Benefit Local Firefighters

KD and The Painkillers, a local Fort Collins Cover Band, will be playing a concert to benefit local firefighters.  The concert will take place at the Tilted Barrel Brew Pub in Loveland on Friday, Feb 22 from 7-10pm.  The first 20 firefighters in the doors will recieve a free beer! Please come out and enjoy some good music, a (free) beer, and support your local firefighters.
"BATTLE OF THE BRAVEST" Charity Hockey Game March 24, 2019

Every year for the past several years Fire Fighters from across Broome County, New York come together for the annual "BATTLE OF THE BRAVEST" Charity Hockey Game. All proceds from this event go directly to established, promising cancer reseach programs. In the past four years the event has raised over $30,000. of which 100% has gone to world class cancer research programs. This years event will be held on Sunday March 24. Doors open at 2:45 Puck drop at 3:20. There will be a number of raffle items including some real neat sports items.

John Wood Rememberance Ceremony

Today marks the 38th anniversary of Firefighter John Wood’s line of duty death. Firefighter Wood suffered a heart attack on February 20, 1981 while fighting a wildland interface fire in Parker. On January 29, 2019 Local 858’s Principal Officers met with the Executive Board of F.I.R.E. for a meet and greet. This was a very productive meeting that centered on how our organizations can support each other moving forward. The F.I.R.E. Executive Board is very dedicated to Local 858 and understands the importance of unification amongst all Local 858 members.
Glasgow Place Structure Fire with AFR

On February 18, 2019 at approximately 15:05 Aurora 911 dispatched Aurora Fire Rescue to a residential structure fire at 22225 E. Glasgow Pl. near the Saddle Rock Golf Course in southeast Aurora. Dispatch alerted units en route that 911 caller reporting that the fire started in the garage and the house is now on fire.

DFF Charitable Foundation Chili Cook-Off

This Friday, February 22, 2019 MYC will be hosting their 3rd annual chili cook-off from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Fire Fighter Event Center at 12 Lakeside Lane. All proceeds go towards the Denver Fire Fighters Charitable Foundation. You can enter a crockpot of red or green chili for $15 and also participate in a silent auction.

Lynn Firefighters Day was established by the Lynn City Council following a fire at City Box 41 on February 13, 1895 at Hutchinson Block Hardware on Munroe Street where four Lynn Firefighters made the ultimate sacrifice.

2nd Alarm Fire: 70 Farmington Ave
02/12/19 - New London Fire Fighters
On Monday morning 02/11/2019 the NLFD responded to a report of smoke in the building in 70 Farmington Ave Apartments. On arrival, crews found flames coming from two windows on the 4th floor. A second alarm was called due to the large number of occupancies in the apartments that needed help exiting the building. The NLFD had the fire knocked down under 15 minutes from arrival.
